back to work

a few weeks ago i announced on instagram that i went back to work. after eight and a half beautiful weeks at home with my girls, i exchanged our slow mornings and jammies until noon for fancy work attire and scheduling meetings around pumping and lunches on the go. a reality that came much too soon for all of us, really. to say our transition was easy would be silly. while klo is probably our easiest baby yet and thee most content little human ever, she has things that she prefers and she is sure to let us know about them. come to find out, nursing over bottle feeding was one of them. not that it was a big surprise to us, since we went through the same thing with kendi, but it really posed a challenge those first couple of weeks. knowing that klo would go on a hunger strike and refuse to take a bottle killed me. going back to work after having babies has always been hard on me, always, and this certainly didn't help. after trying what seemed like a lot of bottles with various nipple shapes and sizes, we stumbled upon the LATCH bottle {by munchkin) that is specifically designed to mimic milk flow of that from the breast. in many ways, this bottle is genius and so far it is working for her. my husband calls it the unicorn of bottles only because after investing all those dollars on bottles, this is the only one she will use for the time being. it's magic, i tell ya.

it is so much better to leave for work now knowing that she is happy and that her tummy is full of mama's milk!

coming home to these peaceful snuggles is everything…

this smile though..... seriously, such a love.

and let's be honest... i don't think any of us mama's get a thrill out of pumping and having to wear breast pads. am i right? but i don't leave the house without these. they are easy. simple. and they stay in place, mama friends!

if you're finding yourself in the same boat as we were in, i really recommend checking out the LATCH bottle. it has seriously been a life savor for our sweet girl.

there are some really helpful videos here that describe how it works and their design process. and as always, if you have any questions... don't hesitate to ask. i'd love to share more about our story!
