at{mine} / all things home

have you heard of at{mine}? if you're into home decor and interiors you might want to check it out. these long winters always get my wheels turning about our laundry list of spring and summer house projects and in the mood to change things up around our home. i can often be found looking for inspiration during the wee hours of the night while i am nursing klo and i happened to stumble upon them. it is sort of like pinterest and instagram rolled into one, only it is specifically home related which i like. the thing i love about it though, it allows you to tag items in the photo to tell a fellow admirer where certain things are from or what the brand of the product is. so basically it's like twofer. you can get your inspiration and do a little shopping, gotta love that right?! i know i do, my husband on the other hand might have a different opinion ;)

anyway, i liked it so much i made up a profile and posted some images of our home here. take a look and follow along if you'd like. and please let me know what you think about it or if you join, i'd love to see your spaces!

taking the long way home

it's funny how a car ride can put you in a better mood almost the second you get in it. i was in a lull over the weekend… thinking about this, that and the other. saying goodbye to what was a really good year to us, while opening our arms out to another. i have a thing with goodbyes. all goodbyes actually. and in some cases, it can get the best of me. good thing for that husband of mine that almost always seems to pick up on it even before i do… and can rescue me from going under. this time in the form of a car ride with all three babies bundled up in the back, sound asleep (thanks goodness, right?!). i'm telling ya, it was exactly what i needed. a couple hours of complete uninterrupted husband time, talking his ear right off while bon iver whispered his calming song in the background. gosh was it ever nice to drive through our city taking the long way back home, visiting neighborhoods we adore, driving by the quaint cafes and restaurants and bars we have on our date night bucket list, looking out our windows at the lakes that are now iced over talking about how cute it will be to see all three of our little ladies playing at the beach this summer, admiring how beautiful the city has updated the streets throughout the historic districts, all the while painting our big dreams for the new year.

staying cozy in my flannel shirt dress from shabby apple and my oversized scarf, smiling for miles because . . . . the long way home is always best.

 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . two thousand sixteen, we have big plans for you. so stick around, friends!
