in the greenhouse with brass clothing

my soul has been craving warm sunshine, fresh blooms, spring air, green grass, my garden and a spring-like wardrobe. it is time to put away the heavy sweaters and bust out the dresses, give me all the dresses! it is so hard to be patient this time of year. us minnesota people are so ready for spring come march that when winter-like days hit in april it can be such a downer. to escape the cold winter air and boost our sour spirits, i packed up the girls and my mother and venture to one of my favorite places, the greenhouse.

i like to call this place a little slice of tropical heaven. with rows of house plants, fresh spring floral, and a fairy garden for the girls to play and get lost in imagination, this place has it all. it is exactly what our souls needed this weekend when winter decided to make yet another appearance. while i shopped for a few house plants and planned out my flower pots and boxes, the girls were having their fun running down the aisles and soaking up the warm filtered sunlight. the smell of moist dirt and big leafy greens and wearing my everyday dress without being cold for a change was therapeutic enough for me!

for those that are gearing up for spring, like myself, and craving new things for your spring wardrobe, brass clothing is something you may want to check out. their philosophy of keeping things simple and comfortable, yet stylish too, is everything i am about these days. i'm sure you other mom's out there can agree, comfort is everything. being a mom to three little ladies and on the go a lot, it is nice to have some go to garments in the closet that are easy to dress up and down and can be paired with just about anything!

our everyday oils

here is a quick round up of a few essential oil blends we can't live without and their uses:

calming spray: 10 drops lavender + 10 drops orange + 4 tablespoons witch hazel + fill the rest of a 2oz glass amber bottle with distilled water. we use this blend on the two older kids when they get a little hyper or their mood may seem a little off. works like a charm! we often see kendi go for this when she is working through a tough moment.

linen spray: 10 drops lavender + distilled water in a 2oz glass amber bottle. we use on our linens and the kid's blankets before nap and bedtime. it is my favorite part of our bedtime ritual. it sets the stage for peaceful night of sleep!

all purpose surface spray: 10 drops thieves + 10 drops purification + 10 lemon oil + fill the rest with distilled water in a 12oz glass spray bottle. we use this to clean off our surfaces after meals and spills. it leaves our surfaces shinny and smelling good while also fighting germs and keeping harmful toxins away from our littles. clean and safe products are what's best!

germ fighter: 3 drops thieves + 3 drops cedarwood + sweet almond oil in a glass roller bottle. we use this blend on our feet before bed to fight off those pesky germs and to keep our bodies healthy and give our immune system a little boost!

face serum: 5 drops frankincense + 2 drops geranium + equal parts of jojoba + sweet almond oil in a glass dropper bottle. i use this on my face 2-3 times a day. i add a drop or two to my moisturizer in the morning and evening. my face glows all day long while it's working it's magic at fighting off those fine lines!

energy + focus boost: 5 drops peppermint + 5 drops grapefruit + sweet almond oil in a glass roller bottle. i use this blend every single day, multiple times a day. this is literally my go to blend for everything. if i need a little boost of energy or need to dial in and fight off distraction or i feel a headache coming on or i need a little calm in the storm of chaos, i sniff or roll this stuff on me and all is right again. i have a serious love for peppermint and grapefruit! they are my go to oils, for sure!

happy oiling, dears!
